Cryptocurrency Expo Event (Coin Fest) 5th of April 2018
On 5th of April 2018, there will be a Crypto-blockchain event on dedicated to the awareness of blockchain and cryptocurrency in the Federal Capital City of Nigeria, Abuja. We have the opportunity to promote Crown in that event. There will be an estimated 300 visitors, joining this event. However, the hall to be used is expected to contain 1000 audience being the first time the even would be held in Abuja. The last edition was held in Lagos attracted a wide range of crypto enthusiasts and recorded more than 500 attendees. Link to the program website: http://coinfestng.org/
CoinFest started in 2013 as a relatively small gathering of 100 or so Bitcoiners, celebrating the adoption of Bitcoin at a Waves Coffee House in Vancouver. It was conceived as a way to incentivize cryptocurrency acceptance while educating the public about its importance and use. Its popular success prompted the Bitcoiniacs to place the world’s first Bitcoin ATM there, which we again celebrated.
By 2014, CoinFest was growing in popularity, and that year it took a new direction: CoinFest spread across Canada and now internationally, exemplifying the border-defying and decentralized nature of crypto. Vancouver lead the way again by booking multiple venues simultaneously for a less centrally organized variety of exhibits, as Satoshi would have wanted. In 2015, CoinFest spread worldwide, and new ground was broken in Latin America and Europe and Later in Africa Now it is celebrated worldwide, Vancouver having lost its throne, and there is no real center of authority.
Amongst other speakers, we will give an introduction to Crown and its potential, we plan to make available free wi-fi for Every visitor to download android wallet with free $10 in Crown, encouraging them to become part of the Crown community.
We propose partnership with organizers of the event with a sum of $ 2000, payable in Crown. This will give us an edge as partners, as this is a free no-profit event and serious partnerships are needed to ensure continuity and growth. Above that, the $10 Crown would be reserved for the first 300 attendees. Translating to 300 times $10 in Crown.
Furthermore, I propose some T-Shirts be made in honour of crown for publicity and would be distributed among event planning ushers. It would also be used as prizes to be won and/redeemable at the event center. This implies that, I intend to dish out some weekly questions about crown before the event date on social media to create much awareness before the event date and a landing page to register potential investors.
My own work will be 16 hours of organizing, preparation and presentation $1.500,00. Also, I will make promotion materials reusable for several occasions.
What are the goals of the project?
The goal of the project is to create awareness of crown to Nigeria Cryptocurrency Community
Proposer’s Email Address[email protected]
Describe the need for your project.
*Social media marketing
*Education and presentation
*Open avenues for more opportunities.
Tell us the potential benefits your project could bring to Crown (eg, further decentralisation). What will the project become? Is it an ongoing project?
This is just the first presentation of crown to the Nigerian cryptocurrency community. And I hope we can partner with Coinfest organizers to host this event annually. However, My ambition is to make crown a gateway currency in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Presently, Africans pay twice as high in fees as other countries to purchase bitcoin which seem to be the only gateway into crypto-space from this end, and with high transaction fees of bitcoin, it has become a nightmare to crypto-traders and individuals who now use cryptocurrencies for remittance purposes to send and receive money worldwide whether for goods purchases or personal needs. Also, having the knowledge that Nigeria remittance in 2017 alone account for about $21billion it makes much sense if crown becomes a major base currency to be traded with other pairs on a mega Pan-African super model exchange. I believe this a goal that can be achieved in collaboration with the crown team and technical know-how.
